DESCRIPTION:The invited talk of Alex Gluhak will be delivered in the contex
 t of the 2019 European Conference on Ambient Intelligence (AMI 2019) that 
 is by DIAG on 13-15 November. The European Conference on Ambient Intellige
 nce is the prime venue for research on Ambient Intelligence\, with an inte
 rnational and interdisciplinary character. It brings together researchers 
 and practitioners from the fields of science\, engineering\, and\, design 
 working towards the vision of Ambient Intelligence. This year's event focu
 s topic is “Data-driven Ambient Intelligence” that follows the vision of C
 alm Technology\, where technology is useful but does not demand our full a
 ttention or interfere with our usual behavior and activities.Alex Gluhak i
 s is Head of Technology IoT at Digitial Catapult\, where he is responsible
  for setting the technology directions in the area of IoT and the creation
  of strategic programmes and their delivery. He has nearly 15 years’ of re
 search experience in academia and industry. Since 2006 he has been working
  in the area of mobile computing and IoT at companies such as Intel Labs\,
  Ericsson and at the University of Surrey. He has a holistic understanding
  of IoT systems from devices to cloud\, including communications\, informa
 tion processing\, data management and application enablement. His current 
 work focuses on lowering barriers for innovation around Low Power Wide Are
 a Networks and establishing common market places for IoT data across heter
 ogeneous IoT platforms.
