ncorsuale 09/B3 – Settore scientifico disciplinare ING-IND/35\, terrà pres
so questo dipartimento un seminario su attività di ricerca svolte e in cor
so di svolgimento. Il seminario avrà luogo giovedi 23 gennaio 2020  alle 1
4:30 in aula A6\, DIAG\, via Ariosto 25. Abstract:The parties of the Unite
d Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) reached the Pari
s Agreement to combat climate change and to intensify the actions needed f
 or a sustainable transition towards a low-carbon future. In this talk\, I
will describe the results of my research activity. It is referred to the e
conomic and management aspects of sustainability in several contexts. The
first regards the role of biomethane that can potentially replace natural
gas as a sustainable vehicle fuel\, but its development is strictly linked
to the adoption of governmental support programmes to stimulate market gr
owth. Following this approach\, it is performed an assessment of the poten
tial transition of the municipality of Rome to a more sustainable transpor
t system\, based on the economic feasibility of biomethane. The second con
cerns End of Life Vehicles that are one of the most important waste stream
s in terms of volumes and material contents. The study underlines that the
economic side is the most important criteria and there is a synergy betwe
en technological progress and circular economy models. The third is referr
ed to the photovoltaic systems in public buildings\, realized in a develop
ed and subsidized market. They are able to develop economic opportunities
and profits can be consistent with a significant share of energy produced
and self-consumed. The fourth is referred to the bioeconomy. It is propose
d a new indicator able to measure the socio-economic performance of bioeco
nomy sectors specifying also the impact of innovative sectors. In addition
\, it is introduced also another indicator that instead measures the perfo
rmance of End of Life alternatives for bio-based products. Short Bio: Idia
no D’Adamo obtained Italian National Qualification for Associate Professor
position on August 2018. He received the Master of Science in Management
Engineering in 2008 and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Information Engineerin
g in 2012. Both from the University of L’Aquila. He worked in the Universi
ty of Sheffield\, the National Research Council of Italy\, Politecnico di
Milano and University of L'Aquila. In August 2015\, he obtained the Elsevi
er Atlas Price with a work published in Renewable and Sustainable Energy R
eviews. He received two Excellence Review Awards: Waste Management in 2017
and Resources Conservation and Recycling in 2018. During its academic car
eer\, Idiano D'Adamo published 61 papers in the Scopus database\, reaching
an h-index of 23. His current research interests are bioeconomy\, circula
r economy\, renewable energy\, sustainability and waste management.
